Happy Birthday, Ivey! - Part 1

A one year old, teaching, a home, and a life... all making it hard to keep up with my blogging. However, I thought I was doing pretty good to get on just a week late. =)

Ivey Ann was one year old last Saturday. The celebrating began on Friday, though. We had a little party for her and another little boy (born on the same day) at the baby sitter's. If you notice red spots on Ivey, it is because right after I got there for the party she started breaking out and turn blood-red all over. That is also why she is shirtless in some of the other pictures... we thought at first it could be a heat rash. However, we finally decided it could be an allergic reaction to something (it went on all weekend, though - doctor finally said it was the hives and should go away in a few days). What a great time to get the hives, though!!!! Thankfully, as you will see, the hives went down in time for pictures and then would flare back up again. Oh well... God was just showing us that not everything is "in the plan." Learning that is a common theme of parenthood.

Ivey's cake that MawMaw made her just for this party. The angel on top was actually on her first baby shower cake. It has been freezing for over a year just for this.

Ivey and her friend opening their gifts from Mrs. Bobbie and Mr. Frank. They gave her the cutest ladybug along with Eric Carle's book The Grouchy Ladybug. She loves reading it!

You can tell she loved her ladybug and Kaylan, too. On Friday night, MawMaw, PawPaw, and cousin KayKay came to spend the night (and help Momma with the party). The cousins had a little cuddle time!

Kaylan was a huge help to have for the party the next day, too. She put up with MawMaw and me as we bossed her around this way and that... she was a trooper! Thank you, Kay... We love you!
