Visit with Aunt Brooke

One great part of being a teacher is the summers.  This summer especially has been so much fun... a certain little girl has helped with that, though. =)  The many visits with family have been part of what have made this a great summer.

Last weekend, Kyle's sister, Brooke, came in for a few days to visit with Ivey (and us).  She has been in California working, then on Route 66 for vacation, and then Africa on a mission trip.  Therefore, we haven't gotten to see her since Christmas.  Boy, Ivey has changed since then!  They both enjoyed spending some time together!

Brooke surprised Ivey with a teddy bear from Tinkertown (a place on Route 66) and a doll from Africa.  We named them Ted and Kenya... and as you can see, Ivey was thrilled over her gifts.  Thank you, Brooke, for those and our gifts as well!

Ivey loved having her own personal playmate... they read, put puzzles together, played outside, etc., etc....
Brooke and Ivey "experiencing" rain... Ivey always saw the rain but now she knows what it is.  In fact, Wednesday night on the way home from church it began raining and hitting the side window.  She kept trying to touch the droplets on her window saying "rain."  I think it is because of this playing in the rain that she learned the word and what it meant...

What pretty smiles!!!!
Thanks, Brooke, for coming and seeing us!  Hopefully it won't be so long next time!
