Cara Brooke is here!

So she was here two weeks ago but I am just  now getting to blog about it...

 My brother, Brent, and his wife, Becky, already have Garrett and now have welcomed into their family a little girl, Cara.  She was born Sunday, July 15th, with a head FULL of dark hair!

Of course, the entire family had to show up for "support" (that means wanting a glimpse of the new addition - who cares about the parents =)).  So during the wait time we enterained ourselves...

Kaylan, NayNay, and Ivey played London Bridges...

Garrett showed Ivey how to play a game on the iPad (with Carson supervising)...

Then came time for Baby Cara's first bath!  Before going in, proud big brother posed for a quick pic with Uncle Stephen!

There she is... beautiful baby Cara!!!!

To say these two were thrilled would be an understatment.  Ivey stood for a while with her face just pressed to the glass! Of course, Garrett was able to go in and join in on the fun!

Garrett was able to help give her a bath and wash her hair along with his momma and daddy.  Isn't this sweet???

After a long afternoon at the hospital and rough day for a newborn, we left without getting to hold the precious Cara.  However, we made up for that!  On Thursday of that same week, Ivey and I made a trip to Brent and Becky's house to spend a little quality time with Garrett and Cara.

Ivey absolutely loved Cara.  On the way over we talked about how little she would be and IVey kept saying that baby Cara wasn't strong and we would have to be careful... how sweet!  She was very careful with her.  Once she argued with me about holding ALL by herself and discovered she wasn't going to win that battle, she was perfectly content holding Cara and loving on her. 

Of course, Ivey spent time with Garrett, too... in fact, they drug out a bunch of toys and were running from one end of the house to the other (sorry, Becky).  When we left and got in the car, Ivey said, "We had fun, Momma.  Cara is so pretty.  I love her!" 

My baby is growing up too fast!  Thanks, Brent and Becky, for letting us come and love on Cara for a little while... hopefully we can see her again soon!
